Action de planter. Ce n’est pas l’époque de la plantation, Il est occupé de la plantation de son jardin.

Il se dit aussi d’une Certaine quantité d’arbres plantés dans un même terrain. Il a fait de belles plantations dans sa propriété.

Il se dit encore des établissements agricoles dans les colonies. Les créoles vivent sur leurs plantations.

En termes de Beaux-Arts, il désigne la Manière de camper un personnage. Par extension, La plantation d’un décor.
